Matei Over Five Years

So this is a character I decided to redraw again now that my photoshop skills have improved. You can see my style has changed A LOT.

2010: This was part of a class assignment & was one of the first times I used photoshop. I clearly didn't attempt shading of any kind & my anatomy is mind boggling. But hey, at least I used the dodge tool on his bangs! Name at the time: Crow...Honestly it's because I love the movie "The Crow".

2013: I was randomly really into the Gorillaz art style. This was when I still "shaded" using a black brush set to a low opacity...Not sure why I used such a pale/washed out palette.
Name at the time: Caleb...I really just wanted to keep the "C" in his name I guess.

2015: I guess this is Young Justice inspired...Gave him a healthier skin tone & made him look less like a grungy basement stoner, but the skinny jeans(?), shackles & red hoodie remained. I might bring back the choker lock he used to have around his neck...It's just I'm trying to streamline this look.
Name: Matei...This name is the keeper I think.

Go Go Tomago: "Angewomon up!"

Go-Go: Angewomon Up?

Continuing in my theme of mashups I'm toying with a design combining Big Hero 6's Go Go Tomago & Digimon's Angewomon. Of course Honey Lemon would have been an obvious choice to pair with Angewomon but where's the fun in doing the obvious. The main issue with combining these two characters is that Angewomon's costume is...um...limited, so it's tricky to add aspects of it to Go Go's armor because she can't have skin exposed.

Basic Concept Idea:
~Use the brunt of Go Go's armor as the base.
~Of course Angewomon's...chest plates/armor? Are carrying over.
~The pink stripes around Go Go's arms represent the scarf Angewomon has wrapped around her arms.
~Most likely I'm keeping the belts Angewomon wears.
~Go Go's disks...Instead of giving her the 8 wings Angewomon possesses I'm working on a design for the 4 disks Go Go uses to move that will each have 2 wings plus the Crest of Light on them. That way the wings won't be tacked on to her simple silhouette.
~Go Go's Helmet: Essentially it's been turned into Angewomon's helmet but with the structure & function of Go Go's.
~Her boots are a straight split between the to characters as is the black spandex though the cutouts will not be cutout.

Baymax's New Omnimon/Omegamon Armor

Design Breakdown:
~Big Hero 6: Baymax
~Digimon: Omnimon/Omegamon's armor mixed with aspects of Baymax's red armor.
~Digimon: Digivice = Fusion of both Matt & Tai's digivices

~Baymax's chest plate that gives access to his A.I. now holds a digivice which functions as his power source

Digimon & Disney On The Brain

So...Baymax + Omnimon/Omegamon = OmniBaymax/OmegaBaymax
I don't think this sketch requires too much explaining outside of that formula. I thought Baymax's armor needed more power & of course my first idea was to fuse him with a Digimon.

Experiment 624: Soul Reaper Angel

Design Breakdown:
~Lilo & Stitch: Experiment 624, Angel
~Bleach: (Arrancar) Espada #4 Ulquiorra's hollow mask & the teal lines that descend from his eyes.
~Bleach: Captain #10 Toshiba Hitsugaya's Bankai

~Angel finally has her wings & with them she possesses the power to be a Soul Reaping Angel of Death.

Rough Draft of Experiment 624

It's been a while since I've posted the preliminary sketch for a picture, so here is Experiment 624 from Lilo & Stitch. If you noticed she looks a little different from her original appearance...In this version she is using Soul Reaper Tōshirō's Bankai while wearing Espada #4 Ulquiorra's Hollow mask with the teal lines that descend from his eyes. I wanted to make her look a little more intimidating than the Soul Reaper Stitch picture I drew because Angel is one of my favorite Experiments. I decided to use this Bankai since it'd give her wings to go with her name & now she's more like an Angel of Death.

Cheshire Cat

Design Breakdown:
~Alice in Wonderland: Cheshire Cat...The very fat version of Tim Burton's Movie.
~The Crow: The mask Eric Draven bases his face paint off of
~Spawn: Spawn Skull Earring
~The background is a reference to the Disney version.

Soul Reaper...Stitch?

Design Breakdown:
~Lilo & Stitch: Stitch
~Lilo & Stitch: Scrump the doll
~Bleach: Ichigo's Zanpakuto(Sword), Zangetsu
~Bleach: Nel the Espada's Hollow Mask

Gatomon & Patamon + Wizardmon's Clothes

Two more background characters for the picture I'm working on. Gatomon & Patamon raided Wizardmon's closet.

Pikachu + Gir + Poof = PikaGirPoof

Just working on a larger picture & decided to post one of the background images which I'll continue doing this week until it's completed. I used Poof as a substitute for that pig Gir was shown flying on.

This design consists of:

The Little Mermaid...Queen Ariel

Princess Ariel now possesses real power as Queen of the Seas. Welding both King Triton's Trident & Ursula's tentacles...But is this Ariel good or evil? Has her fusion with Ursula's magic corrupted the young mermaid?

~King Triton's Crown & Trident
~Ursula's Cauldron & Shell Necklace
~The outfit has Ariel's seashell top but with a little more of an edge. The Ursula aspect of her look is based on how I think Ariel would look if she was tainted with Ursula's magic & I doubt she'd give up her tail for tentacles.
~Ariel's Tail has a small variation on her tail fins.
~The flower symbol in the background is based on the three petaled flower Ariel wears in her hair.

~I scrapped the purple skin spots because I just didn't like how it looked.

Queen Ursariel In Progress

I found some time to work on Queen Ariel! 

Queen Ursul...Ariel...Scribble

I'm just throwing this idea out there...Not sure when I'll have time to work this one out but I really liked the idea so I scribbled it out.
Ariel is tainted by Ursula's magic which is why I gave her tentacles & why her skin turning purple in some spots. This is also Queen Ariel following the death of King Triton. Yeah...Get a glimpse of my head canon for a movie I'm not the biggest fan of...

Essentially I'm on a Disney Princess kick & doing versions of them if their "Happy Endings" didn't stick the landing at the end of the movie.

Princess Jasmine...Sorceress Supreme?

~Staff: The head of the staff is the tiger's head from the Cave of Wonders & the bottom of the staff is inspired by the oracle scepter from Aladdin and the King of Thieves. It's basically what I think Jasmine would wield if she had become an all powerful sorceress instead of just giving her Jafar's Serpent staff(Which is what I was originally planning to do because I love that design).

~Jasmine's Outfit: I fused together her slave outfit with the accents from the purple dress she wears towards the end of Aladdin.

~Jasmine's Earrings: Jasmine always wears her large earrings so I decided to use the Golden Scarab that leads to the Cave of Wonders to be her earrings.

~Jafar's Lamp: Self explanatory, I just changed Jafar's genie tail/smoke from red to purple because this picture is very red heavy & the purple looked better.

~Floating Flower Design: This is a reference to the flower Aladdin gives Jasmine during the song "A Whole New World"

Sorceress Jasmine?...An Obedient Jafar?

Working on a Jasmine design that would be a "What if..." concept. Essentially it's a sorceress Jasmine with an enslaved Genie Jafar. Below is the rough sketch & a quick palette test. I'm not settled on a color for Jasmine's outfit but I don't want it to be her traditional blue color scheme. 

What if Jafar killed Aladdin while he was a giant snake?

What if Jasmine was the one to trick Jafar into becoming a genie?

What if Jasmine set out on a journey to resurrect Aladdin?

What if Jasmine used Genie to become an all powerful sorceress?

What other mystical items remain in the Cave of Wonders?

Mulan & Mushu

~Mulan's Outfit: The general clothing is based on the outfit Mulan wears when she meets the Emperor. I removed her sleeves & changed the color of her skirt simply because I thought a pale blue looked better. The armor is basically pieces of Mulan's green armor from the movie just recolored but my friend says I made the armor look too Japanese when I sized the parts down sooo...Yea.

~Face Paint: It seemed like a cool aesthetic to have Mulan wearing her geisha makeup from the beginning of the movie & treating it more like war paint which is why I have it smeared.

~Swords: Mulan is weilding both her Father's Sword & Shan Yu's Blade. I just always pictured Mulan dual wielding these swords in battle if she continued her warrior ways at the end of the movie.

~Mushu:I decided to grant Mushu's desire to be a large scary-isn dragon & then I treated this look as more of Mulan's spirit dragon. But of course I let Mushu keep his gong.

~Flower in the Lower Right Corner: This is an enlarged version of Mulan's flower comb that she wears in her geisha look. In my original plan Mulan was going to be wearing the comb but it seemed like too many unnecessary pieces for her to wear as a warrior.

~Pink Tribal Flowers: The pink flower designs in the background are stylized lotuses to reference the flowers at Mulan's home.

Basic concept for the design is what if Shang died while protecting the Emperor at the end of the movie? I think Mulan would throw herself into battle into battle & would embody both aspects of herself in the movie. Plus having less heavy armor would give her more maneuverability.
