More Winged Daesung?

So I liked the look of my last piece of Daesung fan art & I decided to do one more post with a more dynamic pose but using the same design.

Playing With Logo Ideas

Scribbled some quick logo ideas for myself. I might just refine the green logo & use that one in the future. The colors of these logos are completely irrelevant though, I just like to use random colors when I scribble things out.

BIGBANG's Daesung/D-Lite

Breakdown:
~Right-arm bracer is from Daesung's role in the K-drama 'What's Up'
~Left-arm is the shackle from BIGBANG's MV 'Fantastic Baby'
~The belt buckle is actually based on the necklace Daesung wears in promo photos for BIGBANG's 'MADE' CD series.
~His right side body tattoos are based on the tattoos Daesung has in BIGBANG's MV 'Monster'
~I decided to give Daesung wings as a reference to his solo song titled 'Wings' But I made the wings look a little ominous, so they meshed with his body tattoos from 'Monster'
~The background is filled with the titles to all of Daesung's solo, team-up, & BIGBANG songs.

The purple heavy palette is simply because I didn't want too many colors & I generally like to use purple...Just look at my past work.

D-Lite-Ful?

Doing some fan art...Working out an idea for Daesung/D-Lite from BIGBANG. Trying to incorporate BIGBANG's 5 line logo design from their MADE series, Dae's tattoos from the music video for Monster, & I added wings as a reference to Daesung's solo song 'Wings'

Design Breakdown:

1. The belt buckle is actually the necklace Daesung wears in the promo picture for BIGBANG's 'MADE' series release.
2. The bracer on his right arm is from Daesung's role in the K-drama What's Up
3. The shackle on his left arm is from BIGBANG's MV 'Fantastic Baby'
4. The body tattoo is a reference to BIGBANG's MV 'Monster'
5. His hair is essentially the default style he has been sporting for a while.
6. The wings are reference to his solo 'Wings' & I just designed a set for him.

Halloween Troll Idea

Bear...Chief? Bear Chief

This was a commission I worked on that I believe will be used for t-shirts. It was fun drawing this bear chief but oh man did I get sucked in the magical worlds of pinterest & google images looking for an image of an actual bear that wasn't a 3/4 angle. I was on the verge of heading out to the zoo to go take a picture of one myself.

Toying Around

Experimenting with coloring...I'm liking the texture I achieved with the sky & the rock/ice  came out better than expected when I started scribbling it. Oh look, Matei is hovering.

Three Out Of Four

Three out of the four characters have been updated! Clearly their costumes & color palette differs from the rough mess of a doodle posted above. Eve will be next when I have the time to work on her. Also just realized that I've been fairly active on my blog lately...Hopefully I can keep posting regularly unlike last year...

Mihal Model Sheet

Mihal 2013 - 2015

Design Breakdown:
~Mihal has been streamlined a bit, so no more insane ab lines.
~His mask is now more stylized & the gem was added to connect its design to Matei's shackles. The mask is also supposed to make him look demonic, which I think works here.
~The costume he's wearing in the 2013 design was always a prisoner look & the 2015 version is supposed to be him when he's "free"
~2013: This drawing does not have legs hence the cropping...He skipped leg day, so his legs clearly snapped off while trying to support his disproportionate torso. :)

Mihal's Upgrade In Progress

Continuing to reboot/revamp some old characters I designed. Above is both the original design of Mihal from 2013 and then his revamped look for 2015 which is still in progress. If you snoop through this blog enough you will notice I've been teasing a redesign for these characters for a while.

Design Breakdown:
~Decided to reduce Mihal's muscle mass in the new design because...1.) My proportions were ridiculous. & 2.) The concept I setup for his character even back then just didn't fit with the hulk look.
But Mihal will still be more muscular than the other characters he'll be paired up with.
~Mihal's mask will remain fairly similar to the original with a few edits to have it match the different art style.
~Skin tone & hair color are still in flux while I deicide on his palette.

Priya Model Sheet

Priya Over Five Years

This is an abridged selection of Priya designs because not all of the ones I've done are full body or fully rendered in photoshop.

2010: This design was a part of a class assignment...You can clearly see my love of the dodge tool in photoshop. My proportions here are cringe worthy...I just did not know how to draw in photoshop back then.

2013: My very brief Gorillaz inspired design...I really want Priya to wear a vest & I'm not sure why. This was also a period of time where I wanted all my characters to wear at least two belts & really clunky footwear.

2015: Young Justice-ish style...I decided to lengthen her vest & gave her gloves that cover most of her arms. The two silver armbands on her upper arms are part of a story idea I'm setting up for a few characters I'm designing. The color palette for her costume is a bit of a mashup between the 2010 & 2013 designs. Also I've finally found a skin tone for Priya that I'm happy with because I've been changing it with every design I've done for her over the years.

 Since I redesigned Matei in my last post, I thought Priya deserved one too. Plus I wanted to see what they might look like if they were on a cartoon series.
